Bruce Allen to NFL “Come at Me Bro!”

Today reports surfaced that the NFL was fining the Redskins 36 million dollars for front loading contracts in the uncapped year.

Ate problem with that is there was ya know, no salary cap or rules against reworking deals to get under the cap.

I for one was pumped when the team fixed the ten years of “cap hell” they had suffered under Vinny Cerratto. So I was especially ticked off to hear that the Redskins went from nearly 40 million in cap today to next to nothing.

Then Bruce Allen did his best Clint Eastwood impression with his official quote on the situation:

“The Washington Redskins have received no written documentation from the NFL concerning adjustments to the team salary cap in 2012 as reported in various media outlets. Every contract entered into by the club during the applicable periods complied with the 2010 and 2011 collective bargaining agreements and, in fact, were approved by the NFL commissioner’s office. We look forward to free agency, the draft and the coming football season.”

If no one has told you this today Bruce, I freaking love you!

Even if it looks like this whole cluster of fines sticks it’s nice to know this front office has the stones to stand up for itself against Pappa Goodell.
